The Energy of God’s Dynamite

The Dream

I must admit, I don’t often get dreams from the Lord.  But tonight, I saw God’s explosive power.  In my dream, the energy of God’s dynamite was spectacularly displayed.

In my dream, I saw a huge slab of cement, approximately half the size of a basketball court.  A figure, whom I could not identify, was drilling holes into the cement. The holes were twelve inches apart and covered the entire surface of the slab.  Within each hole was placed a foot-long stick of dynamite.  Before I had time to process what I was seeing, the sticks of dynamite simultaneously ignited. My senses were on high alert as I saw a flicker of light and heard the sizzle of combustion. Within seconds, the slab of cement dramatically shattered into millions of tiny fragments and pieces of rock.

Shaken by the force of the explosion, I immediately realized that the slab of cement represented a hardened heart.  I thought of family members and friends whom I’ve been praying for to know Jesus. I thought of my own heart and the areas which need to be softened.  In epic fashion, the energy of God’s dynamite was evident.

By the Energy of God’s Dynamite

As I was dreaming, I remembered the words of Ephesians 1:19-20:  I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him.  This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.

The power that is described in Ephesians is best characterized by two Greek words:

            En-er-ga-o    energy

            Dyn-a-mis     dynamite

This translates by the energy of God’s dynamite.

By the energy of God’s dynamite, God was blowing up a hardened heart which had turned to cement.  I love what Ezekiel says in 11:19: And I will give them singleness of heart and put a new spirit within them.  I will take away their stony, stubborn heart and give them a tender, responsive heart.

Wow!  God’s power is earth shattering.  It is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead and is available to us!

Dear God, my Father, thank you for my dream.  The magnitude of your power is explosive!  My dream gives me hope as I recall Ephesians 3:20:  Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.  Indeed, You are my power source!  May I tap into the energy of Your dynamite today.  Amen.

Questions to Consider:

  1. How have you seen God’s explosive power in your life?
  2. Are you struggling with a hardened heart?  Ask the Lord to soften your heart today.
Spread the love
