Psalm 16 describes our breathtaking heritage. The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot. The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. Psalm 16:5-6
Listen to the specifics of your future estate. Jesus himself is our inheritance. He has chosen the very best lot for us in heaven. Furthermore, our borders will be fenced in with God’s protection and safety. Therefore, we can rest in pleasant places. Fear of the grave, earthly sorrow, and pain will not exist. We will be abundantly satisfied.
Psalm 16:11 tells us more. You will make known to me that path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Jesus is Our Inheritance
Astonishingly, in heaven, we will have a place of honor as we sit at Jesus’ right hand, enjoying an endless feast. Here, the mysteries of life will be revealed to us. Joy and pleasures not only await us, but are forever. Isn’t this amazing? Our inheritance is inexhaustible because it will never end. We will spend eternity with Jesus!
Dear Jesus, my Savior, You are my Living Trust. I long for my inheritance with you. I am overwhelmed with praise and gratitude for what awaits me. In your name, Amen.
