Praying for the Lives of Our Children
Do you have a New Year’s Resolution? Perhaps you choose a word to focus on? My practice is to select a Bible verse for the new year. This comes after much prayer and asking the Lord where He wants my attention. Praying for the Lives of Our Children, based on Lamentations 2:19, is my 2025 New Year’s Resolution.
Pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to Him for the lives of your children. Lamentations 2:19
Praying for Our Descendants
For years, I’ve attended a weekly Zoom Bible Study that evolved from Covid. I learn so much from these beautiful ladies. Betty is one such example. She prays faithfully each week for the generations represented in our families. Her persistent prayers for those coming after us, inspire me to do the same.
Praying for my children is nothing new. Since they were born, I’ve never stopped. Yet as they get older, their problems seem bigger, along with the consequences. I feel an urgency to respond with laser-focus.
Praying for the Lives of Our Children and Generations to Come
Unfortunately, our younger generation is under attack. Satan works hard to destroy families. My heart is heavy because of conflicts within my own family. And I know I’m not alone. I hear story after story of young people being led astray or choosing to defy God. Lord, help us! We pray for the lives of our children!
A battle is raging for the lives of our children, and grandchildren. Pray a blessing over them as you listen to the song, The Blessing. https://youtu.be/Nm_MB87uD_I?si=iGJDQkPzDanKyVS5
Will You Join Me?
Matthew 18:20 says, For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am among them.
So, will you join me in praying for the lives of our children? There is power in numbers as we petition the God of the universe for the ones we hold dear. “Lord, protect their hearts and minds, in Christ Jesus.” “Lord, please save their souls!”
Pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to Him for the lives of your children. Lamentations 2:19
Dear Jesus, my heart is grieved when I see so many young people turning away from You. I beg you Lord, that you would intervene, in Your mighty power. Amen.
Questions to Consider:
- Do you have a New Year’s Resolution? What is it?
- Has God laid a verse on your heart? Please share it with someone.

Thank you for encouraging us: ‘Pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord and to lift up your hands to Him for the lives of your children.’ Lamentations 2:19.
Amen
WOW…listening to the song caused reflection about how the unstoppable Columbia River pours itself forth into the mighty power of the Pacific Ocean.

Betty, that’s a great analogy showing the mighty power of prayer! What a privilege it is to be united in prayer for our now and future loved ones! Thank you for your example of persistent prayer. 🥰

Yes, Rick and I certainly join in on this fight.
My song today was:
even when I don’t see it ….you’re working!
even when I can’t feel it….you’re working!
You never stop, you never stop working!

Thanks Karla and Rick! It is a fight. I love that song also because it is so true! God is always working behind the scenes.
