Jesus Is the Ultimate Hotshot

Steve and I recently watched the movie, Only the Brave.  It’s a movie based on the tragic, true story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, an elite Arizona firefighting crew.  In the Yarnell Hill Fire in 2013, nineteen of its twenty skilled and highly trained members lost their lives.  The firefighters were trapped when winds changed with no time to escape from the fire’s fury.

Fire Snatchers

This sobering movie reminds me that there are spiritual fire snatchers as well. In Genesis 19:15-17 we read that Lot, the nephew of Abraham, was living with his wife and two daughters, in Sodom and Gomorrah. These two cities were renowned for their evil and the Lord said enough!  God announced that He planned to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah because He couldn’t find even ten righteous people who lived there.  Abraham begged the Lord to save Lot. Mercifully, the Lord answers his pleas and sent angels to snatch Lot and his family from certain death.

Jesus Is the Ultimate Hotshot

As we celebrate Easter, we remember that Jesus Is the Ultimate Hotshot.  He is on a rescue mission.

With a heart of love and compassion, Jesus snatches us from the clutches of sin and death.  Jesus personally took on danger, ridicule, and death. Just like a hotshot, He ventured into the heat of the fire. However, He willingly and knowingly exchanged His life for yours and mine.  His sacrifice is our eternal gain.

Only Jesus Saves

Only Jesus saves.  There  is no other.

Let us remember that Jesus is the Ultimate Hotshot.  He is the Savior of the World.

Prayer

Thank You Jesus for sacrificing Your all for me!  Amen.
